The
first of the lasers (called an 'Erbium:YAG' laser)
is what we use for all 'hard tissue' procedures. This means
that we use it for removing dental decay from a tooth, (or
indeed an old plastic filling which might need to be replaced.)
We use the laser instead of 'the drill' - hence no high
pitched noise, vibration etc. which the 'drill' produces.
The laser is much, much gentler on the tooth than a conventional
dental 'drill', and most treatments can be performed painlessly,
with no need for injections or similar.
