Coronavirus (COVID-19) Dental Practice Update
We hope that you and your families have been keeping safe and well.
Some further pleasing news to report – we have just been advised by our governing
authorities that all remaining dental treatment restrictions have been removed.
On Friday 8 May 2020, The Australian Health Protection Principal Committee (AHPPC) has approved this move, effective immediately. All dental treatment may now be performed in the usual way, with no restrictions on the type of dental service or the way services will be
Of course, the social distancing protocols such as no more than one other person in the waiting room must still be adhered to until we are notified otherwise. We have been implementing this since the pandemic commenced and it is working well.
The other additional measures such as using hand sanitiser on arrival and departure,
removal of magazines and books from the waiting area, and meticulous cleaning of door
handles and counter surfaces between each patient visit mean that we are creating a very
safe environment for both you and all our staff.
If you have been deferring a visit to see us because of the restrictions placed on dentists during the COVID-19 pandemic, there is no need to wait any longer – please give us a call on (02) 9221 1685 to arrange for an appointment. When you call, our staff (Steph or Alex) will run through a couple of questions to ascertain your general health status. This is a very important initial step to ensure we all stay healthy, and is a requirement by the health authorities as part of the lifting of the treatment restrictions that have occurred.
If you are suffering from any such symptoms, or if you have been in close contact with anyone with a confirmed case of COVID-19 in the past 14 days, to ensure everyone’s safety,
we will need to defer your visit until you are completely well.
We look forward to seeing you for your treatment and preventative needs in the near future. From a dental practice point of view, it seems that we have ‘reached the other side of the bridge!’
With best regards,
Dr Mark Dennes
